Class 5. Thursday 23/10

Hello!  How´re you?

We´ve listened to Sandra´s project about your favourite sports and hobbies. Good job!
Boys, Marco and Miguel, you have the chance to prepare the projects for the next class. In your notebooks you´ve got a plan to follow.

So, in our Olympic Games for the projects only Sandra this time got 10 points.

You have also the chance to get extra points writing in the blog your comments.

We watched a short video about popular sports in Britain.
What sports are popular in Britain? What unusual sports do British play?
Here´s a link for this video: Sports in Britain. Watch it again and compare with Spain.

We finished with our topic and started a new one:
"What do you study?"
Where can you study? - At primary school, at secondary school, at the library, at the University etc.

We learnt different subjects you can study at school:
Maths, Science, Foreign Language, English, History, Physics, Chemistry, Art, Music, P.E. etc.

What´s your favourite subject at school? Why do you like it?

Next class 30th we have a Halloween class. But it´s an unusual class - Flipped Class. It means that you will teach younger children different activities in English. We dedicate this class to our favourite holiday - Halloween! Your task is to prepare an activity you´ll teach other children in English, related to Halloween topic.

Unfortunately, Jimena wasn´t present at the class and did tell about our Dragon´s week. Next Thursday then.

Your homework is to prepare a project and a Halloween activity!

Class 4. Thursday 16/10.

Hello!

Today we learnt some useful grammar:
I like/love/hate playing football. (Gerund)
I like/love/hate to play football. (Infinitive) (these sentences mean the same)

BUT:
I´m good at playing the guitar.
I´m bad at speaking French. (after these phrases - Gerund ONLY).

We listened to Roberto´s hobbies and sports and interviewed our parnters:
I love playing volleyball, but my partner loves playing football etc.

We also did a very fun sports quiz. You needed some general knowledge and English to answer the quesions. You did it very well. Here´re our Olympic Games results:
Player 1 - 13 points
Player 2 - 9 points
Player 3 - 9 points
Player 4 - 13 points

 Well done!

Today we also listened to Sandra´s project - her week with our DRAGON Chispa:
Chispa likes to play different sports and games. She also won the competition with Sandra. She usually does homework and goes to bed with Sandra.

Next lucky student is JIMENA. The task is the same - spend a week with a dragon and prepare a project.
(Prepare a project in advance, take photos, draw a picture, write a short story etc.)

Your homework is to prepare a project "My favourite sport or hobby". We´ll vote for the most interesting one.

Our rubric "I´d like to know". Write in your comments some interesting facts about sports or hobbies. The most interesting will get extra points!
Example: There´s a curious sport - Chess boxing or chessboxing. It is a hybrid sport that combines chess with boxing in alternating rounds. The match begins with a chess round which is followed by a boxing round. Rounds of chess and boxing alternate until the end of the match.

Hello
We have a new student in our group! Welcome, Miguel!

Today we read a text "My favourite sport" and revised to ask questions:

What´s Miguel´s favourite sport?
What does he wear?
When did he start?
When does he play? etc.

We also did some listening and played some a Bingo game. It was fun!

We revised the collocations with "play, go and do" and had Olympic Games to check them.

To do - yoga, aerobics, gymnastics, taekwando.
To go - skiing, jogging, swimming.
To play - baseball, volleyball, football, basketball, snooker.

Here´re our results:
Player 1 - 6 points
Player 2 - 11 points
Player 3 - 13 points
Player 4 - 9 points

Today we had a great surprise! A new friend appeared at our class! This is a DRAGON!
First, we have to create a profile for him (name, age, place of living, firends, his favourite food etc.). So, think at home about this.
The first lucky student to take a dragon home is SANDRA. The task is to spend a week with a dragon and then make a small presentation about hobbies and sports that your dragon did during this week.
You can take pictures of him or write a short story!

Your homework is to do the task in the copy and create a dragon´s profile.

Our rubric "I´d like to know". Wirte in the blog 3 questions for me about my sports and hobbies. Don´t repeat the questions!
